Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Henry Fertility. We are pleased that you have chosen us for your medical care. Our practice is devoted to Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility, and Gynecology. We want you to feel comfortable with us, so we strive to make your experience a positive one. This is a list of our most frequently asked questions. Please let us know if you have other questions or concerns.

What can I expect on my first visit?
Your first visit is a consultation with Dr. Henry. He will talk with you about the problems you have been experiencing and what goals you wish to achieve through treatment.  He may come up with a protocol of treatment for you at that time, or he may want to schedule future diagnostic testing on you and/or your partner.

My insurance does not cover infertility treatment, what will I be responsible for on my first visit?
The infertility diagnosis does not apply until you have started and are undergoing treatment to achieve pregnancy.  We typically file your first visit with your insurance and collect the co-pay for a specialist.

Does my partner need to come to the initial appointment?
That is up to you.  Dr. Henry does not usually do any diagnostic testing on the initial visit.  Many patients have their partners come to the initial visit so their questions can be answered as well.

Do you offer any sort of financing for cycles of treatment?
Yes, we offer financing through Prosper Healthcare Lending. Click HERE for more information, or feel free to ask us for more details.

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Henry?
Henry Fertility does not require a referral from a physician in order for you to make an appointment.  Your insurance may require a referral for you to see a specialist.  Please call your insurance company to see if your plan requires you to have a referral for coverage.

How many weeks into my pregnancy will I be under Dr. Henry's care?
Dr, Henry typically monitors patients into the 8-9 week of pregnancy.  He will release you to your OB/GYN at that time.

If needed, how do I find donor sperm?

Does Dr. Henry provide treatment for male infertility?
Henry Fertility can do initial workups for male infertility. If we discover a problem that needs further evaluation we will refer you to a urologist at that time. Once seeing the urologist you will then be referred back to our practice for a treatment plan.

Does your office have weekend appointments?
Only if you are undergoing a cycle of treatment that requires monitoring over the weekend. The nurses on staff monitor in-cycle patients on Saturday mornings by appointment only.  Dr. Henry will perform retrievals and transfers on the weekends when required by the cycle of treatment.

What time do the nurses do ultrasounds and blood draws for cycles of treatment?
Those patients undergoing monitoring by ultrasound or blood draw are required to come in at 8:30 am on scheduled monitoring days dictated by their personal cycle calendars. Patients are called back by the nurses on a first come first serve basis.  It is important you are on time for your monitoring appointments as the courier picks up the daily draws at a certain time every day to ensure same day results.
